Abstract

The article analyzes the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the implementation of the Lithuanian family policy, focusing on the analysis of activities and problems that NGOs face seeking the family well-being and strengthening of the family institution. Such analysis is relevant because since the much-needed civic initiatives in the field of family welfare are missing, NGOs involvement in implementation of family policies has not been studied enough. In order to investigate the role of NGOs, which they perform participating in the implementation of Lithuanian family policy, the main question of this article has been focused on the activities that NGOs are involved in regarding family welfare and strengthening of the family institution, and problems that NGOs encounter in carrying out such activities.
