Abstract

Topic of administrative ethics is rather new in contemporary Lithuania. The purpose of this article is to summarise and
analyse the findings of a survey and to present its conclusions. The ethos of Lithuanian public servants’ is analysed from a
sociological perspective. Various aspects of the findings are compared with recently published (2002) results of a survey
conducted by the Free Market Institute. Analysis allows concluding that the situation of public servants’ ethos isn’t
satisfactory neither from citizens, no from public servants perspective.
